CINCINNATI FINANCIAL CORPORATION Supplemental Retirement Plan Amended and Restated Effective January 1, 2005 (November 1st, 2006)
1.1 Establishment. Cincinnati Financial Corporation originally established the Cincinnati Financial Corporation Supplemental Retirement Plan (the Plan) effective January 1, 1989 as an unfunded supplemental retirement plan for eligible executives. The Plan is intended to qualify as a top-hat plan for purposes of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended. Additionally, the Plan is intended to comply with Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the Code), and the regulations issued thereunder, as such authorities are interpreted by the Committee. 1.2 Purpose. The purpose of the Plan is to provide eligible executives with benefits in addition to those provided under the Cincinnati Financial Corporation Retirement Plan (the CFC Retirement Plan).
