Vertical Penetrations definition

Vertical Penetrations means stairs, elevator shafts, flues, pipe shafts, vertical ducts and the like, and their enclosing walls, and electrical, mechanical, water/fire pump and other utility or equipment rooms, which, regardless of size, serve more than one (1) Floor, but shall not include stairs, dumbwaiters, lifts, and the like, exclusively serving a tenant occupying offices on more than one (1) Floor, other than any shuttle or additional stairs or elevators serving the Premises which are constructed as a part of the Base Building Work and any enlarged or additional stairs serving the Premises required pursuant to applicable codes and ordinances based upon the population densities provided in Section 2.2.1 of EXHIBIT D, which elevators and stairs shall be excluded from Rentable Area and Usable Area in any event.

Vertical Penetrations means the areas within (and measured from the mid-point of the walls enclosing) Building's stairs, fire towers, elevator shafts, flues, vents, stacks, pipe shafts and vertical ducts, but excluding columns or projections necessary to the Building. Areas for the specific use of Tenant and installed at the request of Tenant such as special stairs or elevators are not included within the definition of Vertical Penetrations.

Examples of Vertical Penetrations in a sentence

  • Major Vertical Penetrations shall exclude, however, areas for the specific use of Tenant or installed at the request of Tenant, such as special stairs or elevators.

  • The area of Major Vertical Penetrations shall be bounded and defined by the dominant interior surface of the perimeter walls thereof (or the extended plane of such walls over areas that are not enclosed).

  • As used herein, the term "Major Vertical Penetrations" shall mean the area or areas within Building stairs (excluding the landing at each floor), elevator shafts, and vertical ducts that service more than one floor of the Building.

  • A) The Employer will implement measures which ensure full compliance with the OH&S Regulation, Chemical and Biological Substances.

  • No deductions from Net Rentable Area shall be made for columns or projections necessary to the Building except for Major Vertical Penetrations.

  • Definition: Major Vertical Penetrations, pg.2 shall read: ‘Major vertical penetrations shall mean stairs, elevator shafts, flues, pipe shafts, vertical ducts and the like, and their enclosing walls.
