Variety artist definition

Variety artist means an employee who takes part in a performance and/or rehearsal who is required to perform work during the performance and/or rehearsal such as but not limited to the playing of musical instruments, juggling, acrobatics - including trampoline and/or trapeze, specialised lighting and/or other visual effects, athletics, compering, announcing, a master of ceremonies, a disc jockey, a member of a singing and/or dancing duo, a comedian/comedienne, or any work which may occur in a Variety or Vaudeville or Music Hall style performance and/or production, or any other such work which requires a combination of performance skills not otherwise defined. Such employee may be required to perform as an actor or actress during the course of the performance.

  • Single-service articles means cups, containers, lids, closures, plates, knives, forks, spoons, stirrers, paddles, straws, napkins, wrapping materials, toothpicks, and similar articles intended for one-time, one-person use and then discarded.

  • Contact therapy system means a therapeutic radiation machine with a short target to skin distance (TSD), usually less than five centimeters.

  • Cabinet x-ray system means an x-ray system with the x-ray tube installed in an enclosure independent of existing architectural structures except the floor on which it may be placed. The cabinet x-ray system is intended to contain at least that portion of a material being irradiated, provide radiation attenuation, and exclude personnel from its interior during generation of radiation. Included are all x-ray systems designed primarily for the inspection of carry-on baggage at airline, railroad, and bus terminals, and in similar facilities. An x-ray tube used within a shielded part of a building, or x-ray equipment that may temporarily or occasionally incorporate portable shielding, is not considered a cabinet x-ray system.

  • Classroom teacher means a teacher subject to annual performance evaluation review under the provisions of Education Law Section 3012-c.

  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means: • Protecting children from maltreatment• Preventing impairment of children’s mental or physical health or development• Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

  • Contact adhesive means a non-aerosol adhesive that: (i) is designed for application to both surfaces to be bonded together, and (ii) is allowed to dry before the two surfaces are placed in contact with each other, and (iii) forms an immediate bond that is impossible, or difficult, to reposition after both adhesive- coated surfaces are placed in contact with each other, and (iv) does not need sustained pressure or clamping of surfaces after the adhesive-coated surfaces have been brought together using sufficient momentary pressure to establish full contact between both surfaces. “Contact Adhesive” does not include rubber cements that are primarily intended for use on paper substrates. “Contact Adhesive” also does not include vulcanizing fluids that are designed and labeled for tire repair only.
