Underground storage tank (UST means any one or combination of tanks, including underground pipes con- nected to the tank, that is used to contain an accumulation of petroleum and the volume of which (including the volume of underground pipes connected to the tank) is ten percent or more beneath the surface of the ground. (Defined in RCW 70.148.010.)

  • Groundwater means all water, which is below the surface of the ground in the saturation zone and in direct contact with the ground or subsoil.

  • Ground water means water below the land surface in a zone of saturation.

  • Hazardous Materials Contamination means contamination (whether now existing or hereafter occurring) of the improvements, buildings, facilities, personalty, soil, groundwater, air or other elements on or of the relevant property by Hazardous Materials, or any derivatives thereof, or on or of any other property as a result of Hazardous Materials, or any derivatives thereof, generated on, emanating from or disposed of in connection with the relevant property.

  • Slug loading means any pollutant, including oxygen demanding pollutants, released in a discharge at a flow rate and/or pollutant concentration as to cause interference in the POTW.
