Timberman definition

Timberman means an employee timbering excavations, shafts, etc.
Timberman means an employee engaged in underground timber work, but a miner timbering the miners own workings shall not be classed as a timberman. This term is not meant to apply to any employee who may be called upon to assist in lifting or carrying timber or handing up tools or similar work.
