Thrift shop means a retail outlet operated for a charitable or benevolent purpose that sells donated clothing, appliances, furniture, household items and other items of value at a nominal cost to people in need.
Thrift shop means a retail business establishment in which the proprietor primarily sells used items (generally clothing, household goods and children's items) that have been acquired through donation or purchase, with the proprietor retaining the sales proceeds. Some thrift shops are managed by non-profit organizations that use the proceeds to support their charitable operations.
