Threatening behavior is defined as, but not limited to, threats of violence to members of staff or any other person which is, for example; sexist, racist or homophobic; including intimidating language, screaming, swearing and/or aggressive body language.
Threatening Behavior: Threatening behavior constitutes any statement, communication, conduct, or gesture, including those in written form, directed toward any member of the University community, that causes a reasonable apprehension of physical harm to a person or property.
Board policy 3362.01 reads, “threatening behavior toward staff members: the Board of Education believes that a staff member should be able to work in an environment free of threatening speech or actions.” Threatening behavior consisting of any words or deeds that intimidate a staff member, or cause anxiety concerning his/her physical and/or psychological well-being, is strictly forbidden.
