The Construction Act definition

The Construction Act  means part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

  • It is agreed between the parties hereto that the registration of a claim for lien or the giving of a copy of a claim for lien to the Clerk of the Municipality pursuant to The Construction Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.C.30, as amended from time to time shall entitle the Municipality, in addition to any other remedies available to it, to use all or any part of the Performance Guarantee to satisfy the liabilities and obligations of the Municipality as may arise pursuant to the said Act.

  • The constructional plant means all appliances, tools, plants or machinery or whatsoever nature required in or about the execution, completion or maintenance of the works but does not include materials or other things intended to form part of the permanent work.

(NOTE: accessory structures are NOT exempt from any ordinance requirements) For a substantial improvement, the actual start of construction means the first alteration of any wall, ceiling, floor, or other structural part of a building, whether or not that alteration affects the external dimensions of the building.

  • Commencement of Construction means the commencement of construction of foundation components or elements (such as footings, rafts or piles) for the home.
