Telemig means Telemig Celular S.A., a publicly-traded corporation (sociedade anonima de capital aberto), organized under the laws of Brazil, headquartered in the City of Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, at Rua Levindo Lopes, 258, enrolled in the CNPJ under no. 02.320.739/0001 -06, which provides SMP services in the State of Minas Gerais.
VIVO became a national operator when in September 2007 it acquired a 1.9 GHz (band "L") license to operate in six states in the Northeast Region of Brazil (Alagoas, Ceara, Pernambuco, Piaui, Paraiba, and Rio Grande do Norte) as well as acquiring Telemig.
Telemig Celular's corporate purpose is the provision of SMP service within Area 4 of the General Plan of SMP Authorizations, which covers the State of Minas Gerais.

Value (a) the net debt1 and (b) the net contingencies2 of Telemig Celular to arrive at the equity value of Telemig Celular; and (ii) in the second step the enterprise value of Telemig Participacoes was calculated by multiplying its equity stake in Telemig Celular by the equity value of Telemig Celular ("Telemig Participacoes Enterprise Value").
On May 16, 2008, the capital stock of Telemig Participacoes was R$577,500,000.00, represented by 36,207,061 registered, book-entry shares, without par value, of which 13,466,059 were common shares and 22,741,002 were preferred shares.
