Tandem parking may be used as an alternative parking approach in circumstances where physical limitations exist on a property that prevent the provision of the minimum parking requirements.
Tandem parking is permitted when a mechanical lift parking device is used.
Tandem parking (two parking spaces located end-to-end rather than side-to-side) may be approved by the planning director as part of the building permit; provided, that (1) the arrangement will not create traffic congestion due to additional entry and exit movements; (2) on-street parking is available; and (3) the arrangement will not adversely impact safety factors.
Tandem parking spaces may only be used for valet parked areas subject to Site Plan approval.
