TAL metals definition

TAL metals means the list of 23 inorganic target analytes defined by the EPA Contract Laboratory Program Statement of Work. The list consists of the following: aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, calcium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, manganese, mercury, nickel, potassium, selenium, silver, sodium, thallium, vanadium, and zinc.

Examples of TAL metals in a sentence

  • All soil samples collected for laboratory analysis will be analyzed for VOCs. In addition, about 10 percent of the soil samples (seven of the 70 investigative samples) will also be analyzed for SVOCs, PCBs, pesticides, and TAL metals (including mercury and cyanide).

  • The deeper soil samples were analyzed for PPMs+Ba only if any metals were detected in the upper sample above commercial-use SCOs. Additionally, where evidence of potential contamination was observed, select samples were analyzed for the expanded parameter list (i.e., TAL metals, TCL SVOCs+25, TCL VOCs+15, pesticides, PCBs and cyanide).

  • During the comprehensive sampling event, it is assumed that four samples will be analyzed for filtered and unfiltered TAL metals (including mercury and cyanide), VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, and pesticides.

  • Groundwater samples from up to five locations will be analyzed for target analyte list (TAL) metals (including mercury and cyanide), VOCs, semivolatile organic compounds (SVOC), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), and pesticides, with the objective of determining if continued monitoring for these additional parameters is warranted during the remainder of the RI.

  • Any surface soil XRF screening sample that exceeds MDEQ Part 201 Residential DWPC and statewide background default criteria for arsenic (5.8 mg/kg) or iron (12,000 mg/kg) will be submitted for laboratory analysis of TAL metals.

  • Samples for analysis for VOCs will be collected first, placed directly into the appropriate sample container leaving no headspace, followed by sample collections for TAL metals (including mercury and cyanide), SVOCs, PCBs, and pesticides (see SOP 003, SOP 005 and SOP S019).

  • TAL metals and metalloids and general chemistry parameters are the critical data drivers for the project.
