Supervisory investigation definition

Supervisory investigation means an investigation of a civilian complaint conducted by a subject officer’s supervisor or higher level official within the officer’s chain-of-command. A supervisory investigation is not a supervisory review, which is triggered when an officer reports a use of force, investigatory stop, search, or seizure.
Supervisory investigation means a formal, non-disciplinary process where the involved member’s supervisor is tasked with reviewing a complaint stating a member provided poor quality of service or committed a rule violation that if sustained would not result in corrective action greater than command counseling, as defined by the Bureau’s discipline guide.
Supervisory investigation means an investigation of an alleged minor policy violation committed by an employee that is conducted by a local or division administrator or designee.

  • Investigating Department means any Department, Division or Unit investigating into the conduct of the Agency and shall include the Vigilance Department, Central Bureau of Investigation, the State Police or any other department set up by the Central or State Government having powers to investigate.
