Summer Work is defined as work that is performed during the summer on a temporary or fluctuating need (i.e., cleaning, grounds maintenance, moving furniture and supplies, etc.) When the Board determines that there is a need for summer work, it will post a notice to all bargaining unit members. A bargaining unit member who desires to perform summer work must complete and submit the Board provided form to the Business Manager/Director of Human Resources by the date listed on the posting notice. Bargaining unit members will be given first choice for summer work as long as the summer work hours do not interfere with current work hours. If so available and they are physically able to perform the required tasks, bargaining unit members may work up to forty (40) hours per week during the duration of the Board-determined need. The appropriate supervisor will make the arrangements to provide all necessary training. All bargaining unit members, completing summer work, will be paid at step 1 of the custodial pay chart.

Summer Work is defined as any work given to traditional drivers beyond traditional year routes. This includes summer school routes, substituting on year-round routes and washing/waxing buses. Summer work will be available to Association members only and shall be distributed on the basis of seniority.

Summer Work. Opportunities: All summer work opportunities involving work duties included in JESS represented job descriptions shall be offered to bargaining unit members.
