School Breakfast and Summer Food Service Programs Outreach – SFAs must inform families of the availability of breakfast offered under the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and meals offered through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
School Nutrition Programs include, but are not limited to: the National School Lunch Program (NSLP); School Breakfast Program (SBP); Afterschool Snack Program (ASP); Special Milk Program (SMP); Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP); Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the NSLP; Summer Food Service Program (SFSP); the At-Risk Afterschool Meals component of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP); and the Schools/Child Nutrition USDA Foods Program.
Section 13 of the NSLA, as amended, established the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to provide meals for children from needy areas during periods when area schools are not in session.
This includes the NSLP, SBP, SMP, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
