Street plug definition

Street plug means a reservation for street purposes, placed under public control under conditions approved by the director, for the extension of streets from a subdivision into adjacent lands that may be subdivided in the future.
Street plug means a parcel of land, usually one foot in width, running across the end of a street which, when deeded to the city, rather than dedicated for a public use, prevents gaining legal access to the street and ensures that a continuation of the street will be made when abutting property is subdivided. Street plug means a strip of property, usually one foot in width, overlaying a dedicated street that is reserved to the city for control of access until such time as additional right-of-way is accepted by the city for continuation of or widening of the street. Also referred to as “reserve strip”.
