Statement of Research Intent definition

Statement of Research Intent means the written description of the research to be performed by Principal Investigator and Institution using Materials, and the purpose for such research in such form and containing such provisions and information as FCDI requires to be submitted by Principal Investigator and Institution before they may receive Material from the CIRM Repository. The Statement of Research Intent is not required to include specific scientific activities which reveal proprietary information.

Examples of Statement of Research Intent in a sentence

  • In this case, secondary distribution is prohibited because the use of the NIGMS Repository Sample(s) by the second investigator may not be consistent with this MTA and the Statement of Research Intent.

  • One Principal Investigator obtains NIGMS Repository Sample(s) and explains in the Statement of Research Intent that the sample will be shared with specific, named collaborator(s) for a common research project.

  • The Statement of Research Intent may not be able to specify the laboratories that will receive the materials.

  • An investigator working on a particular project submits a Statement of Research Intent describing that project and obtains NIGMS Repository Sample(s).

  • Secondary distribution to named collaborator(s) is permitted when the Statement of Research Intent is identical for all the named collaborator(s) and is consistent with this MTA.

  • An Institution purchases a sample and describes in the Statement of Research Intent that the NIGMS Repository Sample(s) will be distributed for use as a reference material (for proficiency testing, for example).

  • Use of Materials, Modified Materials, Unmodified Materials or Differentiated Cells for any purpose other than as expressly described in the applicable Statement of Research Intent or any purpose not permitted by this Section 4 is prohibited.

  • If after submission of a Statement of Research Intent, there will be change in the named collaborators (i.e., the addition of any additional named collaborator(s) or the removal of any named collaborator(s)), then prior to making such change, an amendment to the Statement of Research Intent for such collaboration must be submitted to FCDI, naming the additional collaborator(s) or removed collaborator(s), as applicable.

  • If a new project that is not described in the original Statement of Research Intent is initiated, another Statement of Research Intent must be submitted to FCDI.
