Staff Sergeant definition

Staff Sergeant means a Member classified and paid as a Staff Sergeant.
Staff Sergeant means the person responsible for the entire operation of the Municipal RCMP Detachment or any person acting or authorized to act on their behalf.

Examples of Staff Sergeant in a sentence

  • A Sergeant or Staff Sergeant who has been in his rank for less than one year or is not qualified for promotion shall not be assigned by the Chief of Police or his designate to assume the next higher rank above his rank, except where the exigencies of the Service so require.

  • Staff Sergeant shall include, in addition to the position of Staff Sergeant, the positions of Detective Staff Sergeant, Traffic Staff Sergeant and Identification Staff Sergeant.

  • There shall be established by the City a complement of Police Officers within the bargaining unit up to and including the rank of Staff Sergeant which shall be the minimum number of each rank that the Police Service shall have.

  • Staff Sergeant / Detective Sergeant pay shall form part of base salary and shall be paid bi-weekly.

  • The Subrecipient will agree to, enforce and abide by all requirements and report to the Department all data and reports stated below as applicable: • General Obligations o Adopt and abide by a conflicts of interest policy, prohibiting subrecipients from competing for awards or grants in which they develop or draft specifications, requirements, or statements of work [See 2 CFR 2 CFR 200.319(b)].

  • If a callout occurs for the regular full-time Victim Service Program Coordinator, the RCMP Staff Sergeant, or his designate, shall authorize the callout.

  • The hours of work for Victim Service Program and Victim Service/Community Policing Support Worker, because of the nature of the work are flexible and shall be mutually agreed between the Program Coordinator and the Staff Sergeant and/or designate.

  • In the matter of the ranks of Staff Sergeant, Inspector and Superintendent, members holding such ranks may, on recommendation from supervisors after one year, be approved for the second year rate.

  • Officers who are eligible to wear and elect to purchase the Staff Sergeant insignia will not receive any additional compensation and will not have any greater authority than the Sergeant classification.

  • Officers who have served in the Sergeant classification for five (5) or more continuous years are eligible to purchase and wear, at the Officer’s expense, the Staff Sergeant insignia.
