Social Assessment definition

Social Assessment means in respect to a mining project, the process of undertaking a Social Impact Assessment in accordance with the Act, the Mines and Minerals Act, 2009 and these Regulations;
Social Assessment or “SA” means the assessment prepared and adopted by the Recipient dated December 11, 2018, disclosed in-country, and the Association’s website on the same date setting out the assessment to evaluate the project’s potential positive and adverse effects on the indigenous peoples, including details of the specific actions and measures to mitigate such risks as well as measures that endeavor to prevent and respond to discrimination, gender-based violence and sexual exploitation and abuse; respective institutional responsibilities, a monitoring framework, and consultations and feedback procedures (including the description of a Grievance Redress Mechanism) as such assessment may be amended from time to time, with the prior written approval of the Association.
Social Assessment means the social assessment, to be conducted by MoTC prior to the commencement of the works under Part A.3 of the Project, to review the distribution of benefits accruing from the activities under Part A.3 of the Project, including but not limited to social equity, opportunity for temporary labor, economic return on the investment, the perception of fairness and the possibility for the promotion of social reconciliation.

More Definitions of Social Assessment

Social Assessment means the Recipient’s social assessment, satisfactory to the Bank, referred in Section 2.01 to be carried out under Part 4 (a) of the Project, identifying the social impacts of carrying out the Investment Project.
