SIKD will be extended to approximately 100 regional governments, including provinces not yet identified as participating in the Project, and several pilot districts in each of those provinces.
The design of the SIPKD will enable full compatibility with SIKD needs.
Panchayat means an institution (by whatever name called) of self-government constituted under article 243B, for the rural areas;
STU means the Board or the Government company notified by the respective State Government under Sub-section (1) of Section 39 of the Act;
SADC means the Southern African Development Community;
Loft means an intermediary floor on a residual space in a pitched roof; above normal floor level with a maximum height of 1.5 metres and which is constructed or adopted for storage purposes;
Freeboard means a factor of safety usually expressed in feet above a flood level for purposes of floodplain management. "Freeboard" tends to compensate for the many unknown factors that could contribute to flood heights greater than the height calculated for a selected size flood and floodway conditions, such as wave action, blockage of bridge or culvert openings, and the hydrological effect of urbanization of the watershed.
