• The period commencing on any Severance from Service Date and ending on the date an Employee is again credited with an Hour of Service for the performance of duties for the Employer.

Severance from Service Date means the earlier of the date of the Employee’s Separation From Service, or the first anniversary of the date on which the Employee is absent from service (with or without pay) for any reason other than his Separation From Service or a Maternity or Paternity Absence, such as vacation, holiday, sickness, or leave of absence. The Severance From Service Date of an Employee who is absent beyond the first anniversary of his first day of absence by reason of a Maternity or Paternity Absence is the second anniversary of the first day of the absence.

Severance from Service Date means the date, as recorded on the records of a Participating Company or an Affiliated Company, on which an Employee of such company quits, retires, is discharged, or dies, or, if earlier, the first anniversary of the first day of a period during which the Employee remains absent from service with all Participating Companies and Affiliated Companies (with or without pay) for any other reason, except:
