Service Seniority definition

Service Seniority means an employee’s length of service with the Employer. Employees shall be credited with seniority equivalent to their length of continuous service with the Employer prior to the signing of this Agreement. Service seniority for part-time employees shall be prorated on the basis of one (1) year’s service seniority based on the equivalent annual hours of work for a full-time employee.

Examples of Service Seniority in a sentence

  • City Service Seniority: City service seniority shall be defined as the effective date of appointment to the employee's first permanent career position, or as the effective date of appointment to the employee's first full-time position (or positions) which immediately preceded an appointment to a permanent career position, whichever is greater.

  • Length of Service (Seniority) For purposes of this policy, seniority is defined as length of service in the classification in which the layoff is occurring, but not including leaves of absence without pay.

Service Seniority will mean continuous service with the Commission since the last date of hire and shall govern as noted. Employees commencing employment on the same day shall be placed on the Service Seniority list in the manner determined by the Commission.
