SEP Certificate definition
SEP Certificate means a certificate issued by Equitable with respect to an Annuitant who is enrolled under this Contract in order to provide an Annuity Benefit in accordance with a written program constituting a "Simplified Employee Pension," as described in Section 408(k) of the Code. Such a program as adopted by the Annuitant's employer may provide for salary reductions, whereby the employer makes tax-deferred contributions for the Annuitant in lieu of salary, and must meet the requirements of Section 408(b) of the Code.
