Seniors card” means a seniors’ card issued by the Office of Seniors’ Interests in this State;
Seniors means both (1) a group created for gentlemen Members aged 55 years or more (referred to as “the Highwaymen”); and (2) any group that may be formally created for lady Members aged 55 years or more.
Seniors housing – assisted living” means a facility where regular care or supervision is given by a health care professional, as well as, assistance with the performance of the personal functions and activities necessary for daily living for persons, such as the aged or chronically ill, who are unable to perform these functions efficiently for themselves.
Seniors housing – independent living” means a residential building containing in any combination of two or more dwelling units, housekeeping units, or sleeping units for the accommodation of elderly persons; including the ancillary common areas, and accessory personal service and convenience uses, for the exclusive use of residents.
Seniors dwelling unit” means a dwelling unit restricted to residential occupancy by a senior and one other person who may be under the age of 65 and who is a spouse, partner or unpaid caregiver who resides in the same dwelling unit (Land Use Bylaw).
Seniors suite” means a self-contained suite designed for seniors’ accommodation in a seniors’ residence having a separate entrance from a common hall and which may include bedrooms, sitting rooms, sanitary facilities and kitchenettes but which may not include electrical service for a stove or oven;
Seniors. Residence" means a residential building that contains self-contained units designed for seniors' occupancy and common facilities for the preparation and consumption of food, and which may also contain accessory uses and programming such as a beauty salon and spa, library, tuck shop, communal programming space, sanctuary space, medical office space and administrative offices, provided these uses are contained within the seniors' residence building and are intended primarily for use by residents of the building. Each unit shall have a separate entrance from a common hall and shall contain sanitary facilities but shall not contain kitchen facilities;
