Sedation definition

Sedation means the administration of drugs to obtund, dull, reduce the intensity of pain or awareness, allay patient anxiety and control pain during a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure where the administration of those drugs by any route carries the risk of loss of protective reflexes to include any of the following:
Sedation means minimum sedation, moderate sedation, or deep sedation.
