Sauget Area 1 Site definition

Sauget Area 1 Site or “Site” means the geographic area so named and identified by EPA, located within the corporate limits of the Village of Sauget, Illinois and extending into the adjoining Village of Cahokia, Illinois, and depicted generally on the map attached hereto as Appendix A. It includes the areas described in subparagraphs 4.ii.a through g of this Consent Decree as well as the areal extent of contamination in soils, sediment, surface water and groundwater released therefrom, except that, for the purposes of this Consent Decree, the Sauget Area 1 Site does not include groundwater and does not include the Sauget Area 2 Site, or soils, sediments, surface water, or groundwater of the Sauget Area 2 Site. Specifically, Sauget Area 1 Site contains the following source areas and creek segments:

Examples of Sauget Area 1 Site in a sentence

  • The Sauget Area 1 Site consists of three closed landfills (Sites G, H, and I); two former surface impoundments (Site L); one flooded borrow pit (Site M); one filled borrow pit (Site N); and a stream known as Dead Creek and its Creek Segments (“CS”) A through F.

  • Pursuant to the September 1, 2000 Separation Agreement between New Monsanto and Pharmacia, New Monsanto indemnified Pharmacia for certain liabilities, including environmental liabilities related to the Sauget Area 1 Site, to the extent that Solutia fails to pay, perform, or discharge those liabilities.

  • The Plan addresses Solutia’s liabilities associated with the Sauget Area 1 Site.

  • Solutia and Pharmacia entered into an indemnification agreement whereby Solutia assumed financial responsibility for certain existing environmental claims against Pharmacia, including claims under CERCLA with respect to, inter alia, the Sauget Area 1 Site (as defined below and depicted on the map in Appendix A).

  • Share contractor performance information with the PSOs/NNSA Deputy Administrators.

  • In the fall of 1995, EPA completed a CERCLA removal action at Site G of the Sauget Area 1 Site.

  • On June 21, 1999, EPA issued to Pharmacia and Solutia a Unilateral Administrative Order (“UAO”) pursuant to Section 106(a) of CERCLA, 42 U.S.C. § 9606(a), requiring investigation and repair of Dead Creek culverts at the Sauget Area 1 Site.

  • ILUA Area means the geographical area in relation to which the Framework ILUA applies, as specified in Schedule 2 of the Framework ILUA;

  • Area A means the area marked “Area A” outlined in red on the Plan (excluding that part shaded grey on the Plan);

  • Carpet Area means the net usable floor, area of an Flat/Apartment, excluding the area covered by the external walls, areas under services shafts, excluding balcony or verandah area and exclusive open terrace, but includes the area covered by the internal partition walls of the flat/apartment;

  • Area B means the area marked “Area B” outlined in orange on the Plan;

  • Redevelopment Area means the community redevelopment area described, defined or otherwise identified or referred to in the Redevelopment Plan.

  • Built-Up Area and/or “Covered Area” in relation to a Flat shall mean the floor area of that Flat including the area of balconies and terraces, if any attached thereto, and also the thickness of the walls (external or internal) and the columns and pillars therein Provided That if any wall, column or pillar be common between two Flats, then one-half of the area under such wall column or pillar shall be included in the built-up area of each such Flat.

  • Lot area means the total horizontal area within the lot lines of a lot.

  • Water Surface Elevation (WSE means the height, in relation to mean sea level, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of coastal or riverine areas.

  • Development Area means that area to which a development plan is applicable.

  • Basal area means the effective surface area available to transmit the treated effluent from the filter media in a mound system into the in-situ receiving soils. The perimeter is measured at the interface of the imported fill material and in-situ soil. On sloping sites, only the area down-gradient from the up-slope edge of the distribution media may be included in this calculation.

  • Permit area means the area constituted by the blocks that are the subject of a permit;

  • Water surface elevation means the height, in relation to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988, or other datum, where specified, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of riverine areas.

  • Easement Area means the area of the servient lot marked on the survey-strata plan as being subject to the relevant easement; and

  • the LA area means the area in respect of which is the local authority.

  • Stormwater management planning area means the geographic area for which a stormwater management planning agency is authorized to prepare stormwater management plans, or a specific portion of that area identified in a stormwater management plan prepared by that agency.

  • Assessment area means an area, or, if more than one area is designated, the

  • Area C means areas of the West Bank outside Areas A and B, which, except for the issues that will be negotiated in the permanent status negotiations, will be gradually transferred to Palestinian jurisdiction in accordance with this Agreement.

  • Natural area means an area of the rural or non-urban environment which is in an unspoilt natural state or is of high scenic value, and includes, but is not limited to, national parks, game reserves, nature reserves, marine reserves, wilderness areas, areas of extensive agriculture and scenic areas;

  • Target area means a contiguous geographic area in which 50% or more of the households have income that is less than 80% of the statewide median household income.

  • Planning area means a planning area or a development area or a local planning area or a regional development plan area, by whatever name called, or any other area specified as such by the appropriate Government or any competent authority and includes any area designated by the appropriate Government or the competent authority to be a planning area for future planned development, under the law relating to Town and Country Planning for the time being in force and as revised from time to time;

  • Work area means a room or defined space in a workplace where hazardous chemicals are produced or used, and where employees are present.

  • Net Area means the gross area of land less the area of lands conveyed or to be conveyed into public ownership for the purpose of open space, parks, woodlots, storm water management facilities, buffers and road widenings along Regional Roads, and Ontario Hydro utility corridors, and less the area of any wood lots in private ownership if zoned as such, but shall include the area of all road allowances dedicated to the City;
