Sanctions Target definition

Sanctions Target means: (i) any country or territory that is the subject of country-wide or territory-wide Sanctions, including, but not limited to, as the date of this Agreement, Iran, Cuba, Syria, Sudan and North Korea; (ii) a person or entity that is on the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons published by OFAC or any equivalent list of sanctioned persons issued by the U.S. Department of State; or (iii) a person or entity that is located in or organized under the laws of a country or territory that is identified as the subject of country-wide or territory-wide Sanctions Laws and Regulations.
Sanctions Target means: (1) any country or territory that is the target of country-wide or territory-wide Economic Sanctions/Trade Laws, including, as of the date of this Agreement, Iran, Cuba, Syria, the Crimea region of Ukraine, and North Korea; (2) a person that is on the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons or any of the other sanctions persons lists published by OFAC, or any equivalent list of sanctioned persons issued by the U.S. Department of State; (3) a person that is located in or organized under the laws of a country or territory that is identified as the subject of country-wide or territory-wide Economic Sanctions/Trade Laws; or (4) an entity owned fifty percent (50%) or more or controlled by a country or territory identified in clause (1) or person in clause (2) above.
Sanctions Target means any Person: (a) that is the subject or target of any Sanctions; (b) named in any Sanctions-related list maintained by OFAC, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce or the U.S. Department of the Treasury, including the OFAC list of “Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons;” (c) operating, organized or resident in a Sanctioned Jurisdiction; or (d) owned or controlled by any such Person or Persons described in the foregoing clauses (a)-(c).

Examples of Sanctions Target in a sentence

  • No proceeds of any loan made hereunder will be used to fund any operations in, finance any investments or activities in, or make any payments to, a Sanctions Target in violation of Sanctions.

  • No Loan Party or any of its Subsidiaries, and none of their directors, officers, agents, or employees is a Sanctions Target.

  • Any Borrower or any Subsidiary of any Borrower becomes a Sanctions Target.

Sanctions Target means;• Any individual, entity, vessel or government which is a designated target of Sanctions (collectively, "Listed Persons") (e.g., OFAC and SDNs);• Companies owned 50% or more, directly or indirectly, by a Listed Person;• Individuals or companies that are resident, incorporated, registered or located in countries or territories such as Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria that are subject to a comprehensive country or territory-wide Embargo as of the approval date of this Policy (i.e., the "Embargoed Countries"), and• Persons or companies owned or controlled by, or operating as agents of, the governments of Embargoed Countries or the Government of Venezuela.
