Sanction Target definition

Sanction Target has the meaning set forth in Section 9.29(a).
Sanction Target means any person who is (i) the subject or the target of any sanctions or trade embargos administered or enforced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”), the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the United Nations Security Council (“UNSC”), the European Union (“EU”), Her Majesty’s Treasury (“HMT”) or the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) or any other applicable sanctions regulation (collectively, “Sanctions”); (ii) 50% or more owned by or otherwise controlled by or acting on behalf of one or more persons referenced in clause (i) above, or (iii) located, organized or resident in a country or territory that is the subject or the target of Sanctions (including but not limited to, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, the Crimea region in the Ukraine and Syria) (each, a “Sanctioned Country”); and
Sanction Target means any Person (1) located, organized, or resident in or that is the government of a Sanctioned Country; (2) named on any OFAC sanctions list; (3) that is otherwise the subject or target of Sanctions (including, for the avoidance of doubt, sanctioned governments of a jurisdiction that is not a Sanctioned Country); or (4) that is controlled or majority owned by one or more of any of the foregoing Persons.

Related to Sanction Target

  • Collaboration Target means the Initial Collaboration Targets set forth on Exhibit F and any Additional Target or Substitute Target that is selected in accordance with Section 3.3 of this Agreement.

Accordingly, should the State determine Contractor is a target of Economic Sanctions or is conducting prohibited transactions with sanctioned individuals or entities, that shall be grounds for termination of this agreement. The State shall provide Contractor advance written notice of such termination, allowing Contractor at least 30 calendar days to provide a written response. Termination shall be at the sole discretion of the State.

  • Sanctioned Territory means a country or territory that is the subject of comprehensive economic Sanctions including, without limitation, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimea.

  • SDN List shall have the meaning assigned to such term in Section 6.21.

  • Attack directed against any civilian population means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;

  • Sanctions Authority means the United States Government (including without limitation, OFAC, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of State), the European Union, the United Kingdom (including Her Majesty’s Treasury) and Canada.
