Sabbatical leaves shall be granted for study, formal education, research and other scholarly and creative activity, or other experiences of professional value that meet the objectives of sabbatical leave and may include associated travel.
The ▇▇▇▇ shall submit all applications with his/her comments and recommendations on each to the Committee on Sabbatical Assignments no later than November 20, with a statement indicating the effects each proposed sabbatical assignment would have on the academic functions of the department, as well as financial arrangements necessary to provide for the faculty member's absence.
Sabbatical leaves may be granted for four (4) months at a full base salary, or for any longer period up to twelve (12) consecutive months, at two-thirds (2/3) pay.
The Sabbatical Committee shall make the final selection from the list of applicants.
Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.
