Remote Terminal Unit definition

Remote Terminal Unit. The interface between Company's EMS and the physical equipment at the Facility. "SCADA" or "Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition" The Company system that provides remote control and monitoring of Company's transmission and sub-transmission systems and enables Company to perform real-time control of equipment in the field and to monitor the conditions and status of the Company System.

More Definitions of Remote Terminal Unit

Remote Terminal Unit means a device connected by a communications system to one or more master computers with appropriate software, placed at various locations to collect data and perform remote control. It may also perform intelligent autonomous control of electrical systems and report the results back to the master computer(s).
