RECOGNISED MARITAL UNION definition
RECOGNISED MARITAL UNION means a legal marriage, a customary union according to Black Law and custom, a union recognised as a marriage under any religion, or a cohabitation or dependence referred to in clause (b) of the definition QUALIFYING SPOUSE, provided that a RECOGNISED MARITAL UNION may, at the discretion of the BOARD OF TRUSTEES, include a marriage which has been dissolved but where the other person is still financially dependent upon the MEMBER.
RECOGNISED MARITAL UNION means a lawful marriage or a customary union by indigenous law and custom or a union recognized as a marriage by the teachings of any Asiatic religion, or a cohabitation or any other union between a pensioner and another person that is deemed by the Board in its sole discretion to be a recognized marital union. At it's discretion the Board may include a person from a recognised marital union that has been dissolved where the other person is still to some extent financially dependent on the pensioner.
