Raw natural gas definition

Raw natural gas means hydrocarbons that are produced in a gaseous state from gas wells and that generally include methane, ethane, propane, butanes, pentanes, hexanes, heptanes, octanes, nonanes, and decanes, plus other naturally occurring impurities like water, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen, oxygen, and helium.

Examples of Raw natural gas in a sentence

  • Raw natural gas is typically not of sufficient quality to be placed into an interstate pipeline; it must first be treated for removal of at least carbon dioxide, and usually water vapor and NGLs. See Tr. at 101:11-13 (Reineke).

  • Raw natural gas produced at the well-head contains varying amounts of natural gas liquids ("NGLs").

  • Raw natural gas exiting the wellhead contains substances such as NGLs, water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and other contaminants, some of which must be separated before the gas is suitable for insertion into a pipeline.

  • Raw natural gas is commonly recovered from geologic formations in the ground through drilling and extraction activities by the oil and gas industry.10 This industry includes operations in the extraction and production of crude oil and natural gas, as well as the processing, transmission, and distribution of natural gas.

  • Casinghead Raw natural gas or gas means gas produced from an oil well as a consequence of oil production from the same formation.

  • Students who enroll in the MLIS program beginning in Fall 2011 are also required to take a third non-credit course in which they prepare an ePortfolio.

  • Raw natural gas should be “conditioned” before its use to remove heavier hydrocarbons and undesired components or impurities.

  • Raw natural gas is sent on another pipeline system to natural gas processing plants for further processing.

  • Raw natural gas exiting the wellhead con- tains substances such as NGLs, water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and other contaminants, some of which must be separated before the gas is suitable for insertion into a pipeline.

  • Raw natural gas also contains varying amounts of non-hydrocarbon gases, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium, other noble gases, and hydrogen sulfide.
