Qualified Medical Authority definition

Qualified Medical Authority means any duly licensed practitioner who is recognized by the law of the state in which treatment is rendered as qualified to treat the type of Injury for which claim is made. Such practitioner may not be you or a member of your immediate family.

  • medical authority means the medical authority as referred to in clause (p) of section 2 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 or such other medical authority as may, by notification, be specified by the Central Government for certifying “autism”, “cerebral palsy”, “multiple disabilities”, “person with disability” and “severe disability” referred to in clauses (a), (c), (h), (j) and (o) of section 2 of the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999;

  • Qualified medical provider means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Qualified mental health professional means a licensed medical practitioner or any other person meeting the qualifications specified in OAR 309-019-0125.

  • Football Authority means each of the Premier League, The Football League, The Football Association, The Football Association of Wales, FIFA, UEFA and other relevant governing body of association football.

  • Appeal authority means the executive authority of the municipality or any other body or institution outside of the municipality authorised by that municipality to assume the obligations of an appeal authority for purposes of appeals lodged in terms of the Act;

  • local authority means the council of a municipality that is a city, town or shire constituted under the Local Government Xxx 0000;

  • national authority means an approval authority or any other authority involved in and responsible for market surveillance, border control or registration in a Member State in respect of vehicles, systems, components or separate technical units, parts or equipment;

  • Qualified Medical Child Support Order means a Medical Child Support Order which creates (including assignment of rights) or recognizes an Alternate Recipient's right to receive benefits to which a Participant or Qualified Beneficiary is eligible under this Plan, and has been determined by the Plan Administrator to meet the qualification requirements as outlined under “Procedures” of this provision.

  • Health Care Authority or “HCA” means the Washington State Health Care Authority, any division, section, office, unit or other entity of HCA, or any of the officers or other officials lawfully representing HCA.

  • Qualified Medical Practitioner means any person legally authorized by the Government with jurisdiction in the geographical area of his or her practice to render medical or surgical service, but excluding a qualified medical practitioner who is the Insured Person or an Immediate Family Member of the Insured Person.

  • Governmental Authority(ies) means any Federal, state, local, quasi-governmental instrumentality or foreign court, or governmental agency, authority, instrumentality, agency, bureau, commission, department or regulatory body.

  • Regional authority means the Director General of Foreign Trade appointed under section 6 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992) or an officer authorised by him to grant an authorisation including a duty credit scrip under the said Act.

  • Aeronautical authorities means, in the case of the People’s Republic of China, the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, or any person or agency authorized to perform any function presently exercised by the said Administration; and in the case of the Republic of South Africa, the Minister responsible for civil aviation or any person or agency authorized to perform any particular function provided for in this Agreement.

  • Health carrier or "carrier" means a disability insurer

  • United States central authority means the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

  • Authorized medical physicist means an individual who:

  • Health Authority means the regional health board designated under the Health Authority Act, RSBC 1996, c.180, or the Provincial Health Services Authority, to which the Participant is designated under Section 5.4 of this Contract, unless designated otherwise by the Province;

  • Central Authority means the entity designated by the United States or a foreign country described in section 102(e)(iv) to perform the functions specified in the Convention.

  • School-sponsored media means all student media that are:

  • local authority area means a local authority area as defined in section 1 of the Local Authorities Act, 1992 (Act No. 23 of 1992);

  • Authority or Housing Authority (HA means the Housing Authority.

  • Licensed mental health professional or "LMHP" means a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, licensed marriage and family therapist, certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, licensed behavior analyst, or licensed psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.

  • Independent Safeguarding Authority is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office set up under the provisions of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and which is responsible for the decision making and maintenance of two lists covering the children’s and vulnerable adults’ sectors

  • Primary care physician means a physician who is a family

  • Applicable Governmental Authority means the FERC within the United States and the appropriate governmental authority with subject matter jurisdiction over reliability in Canada and Mexico.

  • Governing authority means the local legislative authority
