Psychiatric residential treatment facility or "PRTF" means a facility other than a hospital that provides psychiatric services, as described in 42 CFR 441.151 to 441.182, in an inpatient setting to individuals under age 21.
Psychiatric residential treatment facility means a facility that is licensed as a residential child care facility, as defined in section 26-6-102 (33), that is not a hospital, and that provides inpatient psychiatric services for individuals who are less than twenty-one years of age under the direction of a physician licensed pursuant to article 240 of title 12, and that meets any other requirement established in rule by the state board.
