Protected Ground definition

Protected Ground means any characteristic protected by applicable law which may include race, colour, religious belief, national origin, ethnicity, ancestry, age, gender/sex, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, sexual orientation, or other protected class. A protected ground may also be referred to as a protected trait or protected characteristic.
Protected Ground means an individual’s race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family status, genetic characteristics, disability and conviction for an offence for which a pardon has been granted or in respect of which a record suspension has been ordered.
Protected Ground means the attributes or characteristics upon which discrimination is prohibited under both the Code and the OCDSB. The following grounds are Code- protected:

Examples of Protected Ground in a sentence

  • Students needing an Accommodation based on a Protected Ground other than Disability, should communicate this need, preferably in writing, to the course instructor.

  • Students needing an Accommodation in relation to their coursework or to fulfil requirements for a graduate degree, based on a Protected Ground other than Disability, should communicate this need, preferably in writing, to their Instructor or the Department Head/Dean or to the designated contact person in their Faculty.

More Definitions of Protected Ground

Protected Ground means a protected ground under the British Columbia Human Rights Code and section 6 of the British Columbia Labour Relations Code and includes race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital or family status, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, conviction for a criminal or summary conviction offence unrelated to employment, or membership or activity in a trade union.
Protected Ground means a ground set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code, which include:

  • Protected Party means a Finance Party which is or will be subject to any liability, or required to make any payment, for or on account of Tax in relation to a sum received or receivable (or any sum deemed for the purposes of Tax to be received or receivable) under a Finance Document.

In addition, pursuant to the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016, the Employee is notified that an individual will not be held criminally or civilly liable under any federal or state trade secret law for the disclosure of a trade secret that (i) is made in confidence to a federal, state, or local government official (directly or indirectly) or to an attorney solely for the purpose of reporting or investigating a suspected violation of law, or (ii) is made in a complaint or other document filed in a lawsuit or other proceeding, if (and only if) such filing is made under seal. In addition, an individual who files a lawsuit for retaliation by an employer for reporting a suspected violation of law may disclose the trade secret to the individual’s attorney and use the trade secret information in the court proceeding, if the individual files any document containing the trade secret under seal and does not disclose the trade secret, except pursuant to court order.

  • Protected Account An account established and maintained for the benefit of Certificateholders by each Servicer with respect to the related Mortgage Loans and with respect to REO Property pursuant to the respective Servicing Agreements. Each Protected Account is required to be an Eligible Account.

  • Protected Customers means any Person to whom the Company has sold its products or services or solicited to sell its products or services during the twelve (12) months prior to the Determination Date.
