Probation Officer definition

Probation Officer. (i.e., USPO) means an individual appointed by the United States District Court to provide pretrial, presentence and supervision (pre and post sentence) services for the court. “Probation Officer” refers to the individual responsible for the direct supervision of a client receiving drug/alcohol testing and/or treatment and/or mental health treatment services.
