Plug in Hybrid definition

Plug in Hybrid means a vehicle that can be charged from an external source and can generate, store, and utilize electric power to reduce the vehicle’s consumption of fossil fuel. These vehicles typically include a larger battery pack to allow an extended range of operation without the use of the gasoline or diesel engine.
Plug in Hybrid means: An electric motor vehicle which is originally equipped so that the vehicle draws propulsion form an internal combustion engine and a battery with at least 5 kilowatt hours of capacity, which can be recharged from an external source of electricity, has at least four wheels, and is manufactured primarily for use on public streets, roads and highways.
