PERSONAL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT definition

PERSONAL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT means barber shops, beauty parlours, cosmetologists, massage providers, massage therapists, dry cleaning shops (automatic self- service only), dry cleaning establishments, electrical appliance repair shops, florist shops, launderettes (automatic self-service only), shoe repair shops, tailor or dressmaking shops, optical or watch repair shops, printing using photographic processes, letter pressing, blue printing, silk screening and lithographing. (BYLAW 7232, 2008)

PERSONAL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT means a use relating to the care and appearance of the body or the cleaning and repair of personal effects. Typical uses include barber shops, beauty parlours, nail salons, tailors, dressmakers, shoe repair shops, dry cleaning establishments (pick-up and drop-off only), laundromats, photographic studios, personal fitness activity, and may include accessory retail sales. This use class does not include escort services, even as an accessory use;

PERSONAL SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT means a building, or part thereof, in which persons are employed in furnishing services and otherwise administering to the individual and personal needs of persons, comprising the premises of a barber, hairdresser, beautician, tailor, dressmaker and/or shoemaker, as well as a laundromat, dry cleaning and laundry depot, sun tanning shop and a formal rentals shop. The sale of merchandise shall be permitted only as an accessory use to the personal service provided.
