Personal care service definition

Personal care service means a health service as listed in subparts 8 and 9 ordered by a physician and provided by a personal care assistant to a recipient to maintain the recipient in his or her residence. The two types of personal care service are private personal care service and shared personal care service.
Personal care service means in-home services provided to maintain, strengthen, or restore an individual's functioning in their own home when an individual is dependent in one or more ADLs, or when an individual requires assistance for ADL needs. Assistance can be provided either by a contracted agency or by a Homecare worker paid in accordance with the collectively bargained rate.
