Pediatric trauma center definition

Pediatric trauma center means a hospital that is verified by the department to be in substantial compliance with pediatric trauma center standards as established by rule of the department and has been approved by the department to operate as a pediatric trauma center.
Pediatric trauma center means either (a) a licensed acute care hospital which typically treats persons fourteen (14) years of age or less, which meets all relevant criteria contained in these Regulations and which has been designated as a pediatric Trauma Center; or (b) the pediatric component of a Trauma Center with pediatric specialist and a pediatric intensive care unit.
Pediatric trauma center means a hospital that is dedicated to providing for the trauma needs of a pediatric patient population and meets the resource requirements outlined by the ACS in chapter 10 of the publication Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient: 1999” for verification as a pediatric trauma center. The trauma center may be freestanding or a separate administrative unit in a larger hospital.
