Passenger Name Record (PNR) definition

Passenger Name Record (PNR) means a record of each passenger's travel requirements which contains all information necessary to enable reservations to be processed and controlled by the booking and participating air carriers for each journey booked by or on behalf of any person. Such a record may be contained in reservation systems, Departure Control Systems (DCS), or equivalent systems providing the same functionalities. In the context of this Framework Decision, PNR data shall mean the data elements described in the Annex and only to the extent that these are collected by the carrier;
Passenger Name Record (PNR) means the document which contains the itinerary for a passenger or a group of passengers travelling together.
Passenger Name Record (PNR) means a unique record created when a reservation is made for a traveller. A PNR may contain one or more types of transaction;

  • This Agreement replaces the Agreement between the European Union and Australia on the Processing and Transfer of European Union – Sourced Passenger Name Record (PNR) Data by Air Carriers to the Australian Customs Service done at Brussels on 30 June 2008, which will cease to apply upon the entry into force of this Agreement.
