As stated in these General Terms and Conditions, "Domestic Travel" means travel only within Japan and "Overseas Travel" means travel other than Domestic Travel.
It is the responsibility of the Host Organisation and Award Holder to ensure that appropriate insurance is obtained for any individual employed on the Award, including students, who intend to undertake Overseas Travel, Fieldwork, Secondments or Sabbaticals during the Award period.

A small number of courses have an Overseas Travel Component as additional costs.
Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 1, for the damage caused to baggage referred to in the same Paragraph, the Company shall compensate within the limits of 150,000 yen per Traveler (except in a case where the damage was due to intention or gross negligence on the part of the Company), provided that the Company has been notified of the damage within 14 days in case of Domestic Travel, or within 21 days in case of Overseas Travel, of the day following the date of occurrence of such damage.
The insured person must inform the Company in writing before leaving India and may submit an application, stating the details of visit(s) abroad, along with copies of the Overseas Travel Insurance Policy, within seven days of return or expiry of the Policy, whichever is earlier.
You must join this program in addition to the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance provided by JSPS.
If the form is not received on time, JSPS will not be able to make the Fellow’s second allowance remittance; neither will it be able to subscribe the Fellow in the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance Policy.
