Outpatient facility definition

Outpatient facility means a facility, located in or apart from a hospital, that provides, under the direction of a licensed physician, either diagnosis or treatment, or both, to ambulatory patients in need of medical, surgical, or mental care. An outpatient facility may have observation beds.
Outpatient facility means an administratively distinct governmental, other public, private, or independent unit or part of such unit that provides outpatient mental health or substance abuse services. The term includes centers for the care of adults or children such as hospitals, clinics, and day or night treatment centers. For mental health services, the definition includes Community Mental Health Centers as defined in the Federal Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963, as amended;

Outpatient facility means any premises used or intended to be used by a healthcare professional to provide healthcare service to individuals on an outpatient basis and shall include a private medical clinic, a private dental clinic and an outpatient clinic or outpatient department within a private healthcare facility or service licensed or deemed to be licensed or to be licensed under the Act which requires separate registration;
