Organic fertilizer definition

Organic fertilizer means any substance composed of animal or vegetable matter used alone or in combination with one or more nonsynthetically derived elements or compounds which are used for soil fertility and plant growth. The matter may not be mixed with any synthetic materials or chemicals, changed in any physical or chemical manner except by physical manipulation such as drying, cooking, chopping, grinding, shredding or pelleting. The matter may be subjected to a biological degradation process under normal conditions of aging, rainfall, sun, curing, air drying, composting, rotting, enzymatic, aerobic or anaerobic bacterial action or any combination of these.
Organic fertilizer means raw organic matter that has been processed and aged for use in increasing soil condition and fertility, and includes soil amendments as that term is defined in 80-10-101.
Organic fertilizer means a material containing carbon and one or more elements, other than hydrogen and oxygen, essential for plant growth. This term includes both “natural organic fertilizer” and “synthetic organic fertilizer.”
