Order in Writing means any document or letter signed by the Engineer and posted or delivered to the contractor and containing instructions, guidance or directions to the contractor for the execution of the Contract.

Examples of Order in Writing in a sentence

  • The Order shall only be deemed to be accepted when the Seller accepts the Order in Writing, at which point the Contract will come into existence.

  • The Contractor shall, however, proceed to act upon such Order In Writing (unless or until the same be countermanded), so that neither the execution of the Works, nor the supply of material or labour may be delayed by any difference or controversy upon the interpretation of the Contract and it is expressly agreed that no claim shall arise under this clause unless such notice as aforesaid shall have been given to the Engineer within twenty-one days of the date of the Order in Writing.
