Order Desk definition

Order Desk means the function consisting of 1) receiving IBM Customer Orders, 2) communicating with the requesting IBM party to ensure the fulfillment commitments satisfy the request, 3) scheduling delivery of the order and 4) communicating with the necessary goods processing organizations to ensure the order is delivered at the committed date and place.
Order Desk. The winning vendor shall provide a telephone service or “order desk” to receive calls from City departments for advice or assistance, recommendations on products, and for receiving and processing phone orders. The Order Desk shall be available from 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, all business days except City holidays. If your standard operating hours are otherwise, notify the Buyer. Depending on the operating needs of the Department, hours that are similar to, but not exactly the same as the 8-5 schedule may be accepted by the City as material compliance to this requirement.
