Observation Status definition

Observation Status means that a person is undergoing Outpatient short-term treatment and testing while a decision is made whether to intensify or cancel clinical services depending on the severity of the presenting factors. If more intense treatment is deemed medically appropriate and medically necessary, the person is admitted as an inpatient. If not, the person is discharged. "Out-of-Network Provider" shall refer to Physicians and facilities that have not contracted to participate in the Exclusive Provider Organizations chosen by the Company.

Observation Status has the meaning given by the CMS. “Official” has the meaning given in Section 15.7(h). “Old Service Levels” has the meaning given in Exhibit 3, Section 1. “On-Leave Mandatory Transition Employee” has the meaning given in Exhibit 13, Section 2.3(e). “On-Leave Offer Period” has the meaning given in Exhibit 13, Section 2.3(e). “Operating Metric Scorecard” means a balanced scorecard which will use the metrics described in Exhibit 4-B to measure revenue cycle operating performance.
