Observation Status definition

Observation Status means that a person is undergoing Outpatient short-term treatment and testing while a decision is made whether to intensify or cancel clinical services depending on the severity of the presenting factors. If more intense treatment is deemed medically appropriate and medically necessary, the person is admitted as an inpatient. If not, the person is discharged. "Out-of-Network Provider" shall refer to Physicians and facilities that have not contracted to participate in the Exclusive Provider Organizations chosen by the Company.
Observation Status has the meaning given by the CMS. “Official” has the meaning given in Section 15.7(h). “Old Service Levels” has the meaning given in Exhibit 3, Section 1. “On-Leave Mandatory Transition Employee” has the meaning given in Exhibit 13, Section 2.3(e). “On-Leave Offer Period” has the meaning given in Exhibit 13, Section 2.3(e). “Operating Metric Scorecard” means a balanced scorecard which will use the metrics described in Exhibit 4-B to measure revenue cycle operating performance. The Operating Metric Scorecard will be based on data and reports from the ▇▇▇▇▇ RCA System. “Operating Metrics” has the meaning given in Exhibit 4-B, Section 2.2. “Operational Denials” means denials which are associated with revenue cycle activities for In-Scope Operations for Supplier. “Operations Oversight Committee” or “OOC” has the meaning given in Exhibit 6, Section 5. “Original Assessment” has the meaning given in Exhibit 4-A, Section 1.3(iv).
Observation Status or “social admission” means Medicare will not cover post-hospitalization stay in a skilled nursing facility

  • Inmates to be transported to a Crisis Stabilization Unit or Suicide Observation Status Cell at another facility will be transported by the CONTRACTOR directly to the identified facility.

  • For inmates placed on Self-harm Observation Status (SHOS), there shall be an order documented in the infirmary record by the attending clinician.

  • Inmates to be transported to a Crisis Stabilization Unit or Suicide Observation Status Cell at another facility will be transported by VENDOR directly to the identified facility.

  • An RN shall complete an assessment on all inmates admitted for Acute Status, Chronic (Long-Term Care) Status, or Isolation Management Room/Self Harm Observation Status, documented using Form DC4-732, Infirmary/Hospital Admission Nursing Evaluation, within two (2) hours of admission to the Infirmary.
