Natural lake definition

Natural lake means a lake that is natural in origin. There are two natural lakes in Virginia: Mountain Lake in Giles County and Lake Drummond located within the boundaries of Chesapeake and Suffolk in the Great Dismal Swamp.
Natural lake means a perennial or intermittent body of water that collects on the surface of the earth exclusively through the forces of nature and without human assistance.
Natural lake means the same as that term is defined in Section 23-13-2.

Natural lake means any navigable, nonartificial body of water in a depression of land or a navigable, nonartificial widen- ing of a river characterized by the general absence of any notice- able current from its inlet to its outlet. For purposes of this chapter, the term natural lake includes that portion of a raised lake that would exist in the absence of the artificial raising of the lake.
