Nationally Strategic Language’ definition

Nationally Strategic Language’ means Arabic, Indonesian, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Japanese, Korean and any other language notified in writing by the Commonwealth; ‘National Skill Shortage’ refers to the skill shortage lists published by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment at State, Territory and National levels and the Department of Home AffairsSkilled Occupations List; ‘Non-designated courses of study’ has the same meaning as set out in item 1 of Schedule 1 of HESA; ‘Number of Commonwealth Supported Places’ has the same meaning as set out in item 1 of Schedule 1 of HESA; ‘Postgraduate Course of Study’ has the same meaning as set out in item 1 of Schedule 1 of HESA; ‘Skills Base of a Regional Economy’ will be assessed on a case by case basis; ‘Teacher Regulatory Authority’ means the body responsible for the accreditation of initial teacher education courses in a State or Territory. ‘Undergraduate Course of Study’ has the same meaning as set out in item 1 of Schedule 1 of HESA.

  • Nationally tracked source means a sealed source containing a quantity equal to or greater than Category 1 or Category 2 levels of any radioactive material listed in 12VAC5-481-3780. In this context a sealed source is defined as radioactive material that is sealed in a capsule or closely bonded, in a solid form and that is not exempt from regulatory control. It does not mean material encapsulated solely for disposal, or nuclear material contained in any fuel assembly, subassembly, fuel rod, or fuel pellet. Category 1 nationally tracked sources are those containing radioactive material at a quantity equal to or greater than the Category 1 threshold. Category 2 nationally tracked sources are those containing radioactive material at a quantity equal to or greater than the Category 2 threshold but less than the Category 1 threshold.

  • Speech-language pathology means the application of principles, methods, and procedures related to the development and disorders, whether of organic or nonorganic origin, that impede oral, pharyngeal, or laryngeal sensorimotor competencies and the normal process of human communication including, but not limited to, disorders and related disorders of speech, articulation, fluency, voice, verbal and written language, auditory comprehension, cognition/communication, and the application of augmentative communication treatment and devices for treatment of such disorders

  • Speech-language pathologist means an individual who is licensed by a state to practice speech-language pathology.

  • plain language means language that can be understood by a reasonable person, applying a reasonable effort;

  • Native language means, if used in reference to an individual of limited English proficiency, the following:
