Nationally recognized building code definition

Nationally recognized building code means any codes used by general contractors in the construction of homes, which include but are not limited to electrical, plumbing, heating, safety, and structural codes generally used for on-site construction. For example, Uniform Builder’s Code (UBC) or International Residential Code (IRC). These are usually preceded by the year in which the code was adopted. For example, 1997 UBC or 2002 IRC.
