Municipal water system definition

Municipal water system means a community water system owned by a city, village, county, town, town sanitary dis- trict, utility district, public inland lake and rehabilitation district, municipal water district or a federal, state, county or municipal owned institution for congregate care or correction, or a privately owned water utility serving the foregoing.
Municipal water system means a water supply system which is open to potential users in a specific category (such as property owners in a geographical area). A municipal water system does not have to be governmentally owned.
Municipal water system means a system for the provision to the public of piped water for human consumption when such system has at least 15 service connections or regularly serves at least 25 year-round residents owned operated by a city, village, county, town sanitary district, utility district, or public institution, as defined in Section 49.10(12)(f)1., Wisconsin Statutes, or a privately owned water utility serving any of the above.
